Tree & Shrub Pruning:
Proper pruning can improve the health and appearance of your trees. With a few exceptions most tree pruning can be performed throughout the year with minimal adverse affect on the health of a tree or shrub. Pruning is a very important aspect of tree care and it should be performed by a certified arborist. Arborists are knowledgeable about the needs of trees and shrubs and are trained to use proper pruning practices. We use the same pruning classifications as outlined by the National Arborists Association.
Crown Cleaning: Removal of dead, dying, diseased, crowded or weakly attached branches.
Crown Thinning: Selective removal of branches to increases light penetration to the ground.
Crown Raising: Removal of low branches to provide clearance for buildings, vehicles, etc.
Crown Reduction or Shaping: Selective removal or branches to reduce the tree's height.
Crown Restoration: Improve the structure and appearance of trees that have sprouted vigourously after storm damage. The tree may require several prunings over a number of years.
